Smoothies!

We love our fruit smoothies and with all the fresh fruit we got from our fruit share this summer the kids got to enjoy them a lot.

Marcus loves yogurt smoothies and will drink two glasses.
More than the rest of us.

Natalya did her own hair today.
She to likes her smoothies and asks for them all the time.

Preschool

Today was Natalya's first day of preschool.  She is attending BUMP and has Mrs. Ingram for her teacher, just like Raquel did at her age.

Smiling and excited for school.

Natalya wanting to have lunch and play at the school playground after class today.  Marcus, Erik, Natalya and I had a fun picnic and the kids had a great time playing.

Mmmm Yummy!

Erik ate his first real food (rice cereal) today.  He seemed to love it and ate two servings for lunch and another for dinner.

Testing out his highchair and waiting patiently for some food.

Mmmm yummy!

Chocolate Finger Paint

While I finished decorating a cake to take to Mike's work, Marcus had a little fun of his own. He decided it was a good idea to finger paint with the left over chocolate cake frosting.  Luckily he only got it on himself and the leather couch.

Heritage Day

The family had fun at Heritage Day at the Montgomery Museum in Christiansburg on Saturday.  We enjoyed fun crafts (weaved a basket, made dolls and cards), listened to good music, saw antique trucks and farm equipment and petted a few animals.

1st Day of 1st Grade

Raquel started 1st grade.  She is in Mrs. Orndorff's class and is so excited! Raquel was hoping to get Mrs. Orndorff because she has crabs in her classroom and she gets to chew gum.  Only one boy from her class last year is in her 1st grade class but I know she will have lots of fun and make new friends.  She was so excited for the first day of school and was ready almost an hour early.

Heritage County Fair

The kids and I enjoyed ourselves at the Heritage County Fair.  Heritage Halls is an assisted living facility, and they put on a fun fair.  We ate lots of good food, played games, feed the animals and the girls got their faces painted.  Each activity was a ticket and we bought enough tickets to enjoy ourselves for a few hours.

Grandma & Grandpa Kennedy

Grandma & Grandpa Kennedy came for a visit.  We all had a fun time playing and swimming. The kids kept them busy and Grandpa taught the girls a few new phrases.
Grandpa wished he could see a big rain storm like he saw last year. Within a few minutes of arriving at our house he got his wish. The kids had fun playing in the downpour and Grandma and Grandpa got to watch a good rain storm and get wet seats in their car because they left their windows down.

The kids took Grandma & Grandpa to the Safari park where we all sat in the back of Mike's truck and had fun feeding the animals. We only lost one bucket to a camel and just got a little camel spit on us.  It was lots of fun riding in the back of the truck and it kept all the mess out of the car.
