Last Day of School

The girls had their final day of school. Natalya had a great time in preschool this year and made lots of friends and really enjoyed her teachers.  Raquel was very sad to be finishing 1st grade and leaving her favorite teacher behind. But her teacher gave them permission to come visit anytime they needed a hug. They also came up with a secret hand signal to be able to show each other in the hall next year.  Both girls had wonderful teachers and they will be missed.

Zoo

We took a family trip to Roanoke to visit the zoo. The kids had a great time playing at the park, seeing the animals and riding the little train. We all enjoyed the nice sunny day!

Erik Loves Music

Erik loves music! When ever a song comes on he sways and dances to the music.  To help him go to bed by himself I let him listen to my iphone while he fell asleep. He would be holding even in his sleep.

Bunnies at School

Raquel and Natalya brought their baby bunnies to school. Raquel's class was great and the kids were very carful and kind to the bunnies. They had lots of fun with them and spent an hour holding and feeding them.  The next day we brought the bunnies for Natalya to share with her class and 3 other classes at her preschool. The bunnies are so cute and cuddly and everyone loved them.

Preschool Picnic

Natalya had a year end family picnic at preschool. The boys fell asleep in the car so Natalya and I had a good time eating, and playing by ourselves. 

Spring Author Celebration

Raquel had her last Author's Celebration of the first grade.  Their class read "All About First Grade" chapter books that they wrote and illustrated. There books had a title page, table of contents and four chapters! They wrote so much that they only had time to read their first three chapters to the parents. It's amazing how far they have come writing and reading this year. We all had fun and Raquel did a great job reading and the kids love making their own ice cream sundaes.

Last Soccer Game

Raquel had a great time playing her first season of soccer. She loves to run and is getting good at going for the ball.  We will miss seeing her play but happy to get back our Saturday mornings.  Go Orange Crush!

Field trips

Pandapas Pond and Hand in Hand Park

Raquel had two fun field trips this week at school. Marcus and I joined her class on a trip to Pandapas pond. We had fun skipping rocks and going for a hike.  Later in the week all the kids came with me to play at Hand in Hand Park with all the 1st grade classes.  The weather was gorgeous for both field trips which was great since it has been raining most of the month.
