Spring Author Celebration

Raquel had her last Author's Celebration of the first grade.  Their class read "All About First Grade" chapter books that they wrote and illustrated. There books had a title page, table of contents and four chapters! They wrote so much that they only had time to read their first three chapters to the parents. It's amazing how far they have come writing and reading this year. We all had fun and Raquel did a great job reading and the kids love making their own ice cream sundaes.

Last Soccer Game

Raquel had a great time playing her first season of soccer. She loves to run and is getting good at going for the ball.  We will miss seeing her play but happy to get back our Saturday mornings.  Go Orange Crush!

Field trips

Pandapas Pond and Hand in Hand Park

Raquel had two fun field trips this week at school. Marcus and I joined her class on a trip to Pandapas pond. We had fun skipping rocks and going for a hike.  Later in the week all the kids came with me to play at Hand in Hand Park with all the 1st grade classes.  The weather was gorgeous for both field trips which was great since it has been raining most of the month.

Warm Weather

We finally got some warm non-rainy weather and we are enjoying being outside. We had fun playing with the bunnies, riding bikes and practicing soccer.

The bunnies are getting bigger.
Their eyes are still closed but they do have white fur.

Wheels & Wagons

Raquel's soccer game was cancelled again but that didn't stop us from having fun. The kids and I spent the morning at Wheels and Wagons. Natalya got to see her prize winning drawing on the back of the bus from last year and the kids drew new ones to go on a bus this year. We rode on a fire truck and a bus and got to climb inside and out on all sorts of different vehicle. Marcus was in heaven being able to see so many things with wheels.

Baby Bunnies

We had a fun surprise in our backyard when we came home.  Our rabbit had 9 baby bunnies. One didn't end up making and the kids buried it but it sure was neat being able to hold baby bunnies that were only a few hours old.

Soccer & Snakes

Grandma & Papa came for a visit. It was cold and rainy most of the time but we were able to watch Raquel play soccer and check out a few snakes at the Price House Nature Center.
